New York, NY (April 20, 2026) – For immediate release:
Taglialatella Galleries presents Jean-Michel Basquiat / Editions, a two-location exhibition celebrating twenty-five years of limited-edition prints released by the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
New York City–born Jean-Michel Basquiat was a Neo-Expressionist, multidisciplinary artist who worked across a variety of mediums. He is widely recognized for combining elements of graffiti, drawing, and abstract painting with figures from popular culture. His work confronts social constructs and political issues—including racism and disparities of wealth and power—often incorporating historical references and expressed through a unique visual language that is unmistakably Basquiat.
The collection of works exhibited in Editions represents the iconic imagery Basquiat developed during his short yet immensely impactful career. These works were selected over a 25-year period by the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat to be produced posthumously as limited-edition screenprints. Each print is numbered on the recto and stamped, signed, and dated on the verso by the Executors of the Estate.
Taglialatella Galleries has long been a leader in the secondary market for Basquiat’s work, with a particular focus on prints as part of the gallery’s blue-chip program and accessible curatorial approach. While museums worldwide feature Basquiat in permanent collections and special exhibitions, very few galleries are able to maintain an inventory of original works due to their significant market value, often reaching into the millions. The gallery recognizes the importance of presenting Basquiat’s editioned works to the public, offering collectors a rare opportunity to acquire pieces connected to the artist’s legacy in a more accessible format.
Taglialatella is also pleased to include a single original drawing in the exhibition, complementing a collection primarily comprised of prints produced by the Estate, including those published by DeSanctis Carr Fine Art (2001–2005) and Flatiron Editions in collaboration with Pace Prints (since 2015).
With Editions, Taglialatella aims to connect a new generation of collectors and admirers with the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Please RSVP to attend the New York opening reception will take place on Thursday, April 30th at 229 10th Avenue from 6–8 PM. The exhibition will then open in Toronto on May 28, 2026, at 99 Yorkville Avenue. For additional details, please call 212-367-0881 or e-mail info@djtfa.com.
